Olivia-Daisy Collins grew up riding and taking lessons. She bought her own horse at the age of 13 with money she had saved from cleaning stalls. Her first horses name is Ladybug and her business is appropriately named after her. She spent most of her teenage years showing in local shows and fall fair on any horse available.
She is a graduate of the two year Equine Studies Program at Kemptville College. Daisy has her CEF rider level 3 and her theory for becoming a CEF level one coach.
Daisy decided to broaden her knowledge by working at the thoroughbred race track for trainer Mark Frostad and Sam Son Farm. She traveled to Fairground Race Course in New Orleans, Louisiana; Keenland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky; and Woodbine Race Track in Toronto, Ontario.
While in New Orleans (2003) Daisy began riding and taking lessons at "Equest Farm", a large English hunter/jumper barn in the heart of the New Orleans "City Park". After Daisy returned to Canada the in spring of 2004 she was offered at job teaching at Equest Farm. She returned to New Orleans in the fall of 2004 and taught and trained in New Orleans until summer 2005, when she had to return home to continue running Ladybug Stables.
Between traveling and education, Daisy has taught lessons out of her own farm for the last five years. In 2003 she began training and traveling to other farms to teach. Presently (2008) Ladybug Stables has a total of 40 students and horses in training. Riders from Ladybug Stables have been successful in local, club and schooling shows.
